What an incredible day! On September 20th, 2025, the community gathered once again, radiant in gold, for the 12th Annual Run for Childhood Cancer. And what a success it was! The sun shone brightly, mirroring the hopeful spirit of everyone involved, making for beautiful weather perfect for a run, walk, or stroll.
From the moment the event kicked off, there was an undeniable buzz in the air. Participants, many sporting their vibrant gold capes, filled the atmosphere with an incredible energy. Our energetic warm-up session lead by Bogi Gergely got everyone moving and grooving, setting the perfect pace for the exciting morning ahead.
This year's run was more than just a race; it was a true celebration of community and resilience. We were thrilled to welcome back the Calgary Stampeders Alumni, who brought their infectious enthusiasm and smiles, posing for photos, leading the ball toss and cheering on our youngest runners. The magic continued with enchanting princesses from Princess parties by Mimi, captivating artists, spiderman, mascots Tug and Tess, and a mesmerizing magician who delighted audiences of all ages. For those needing a moment of relaxation, soothing massages were available, offering a perfect treat after the effort. And of course, the ever-popular bouncy castles, generously sponsored by Pureform and PureKids Radiology, were a huge hit, providing endless fun for the kids!
Everywhere you looked, the spirit of the event was visible. Gold capes fluttered in the gentle breeze, a powerful symbol of solidarity and hope in the fight against childhood cancer. It was a moving sight to behold so many people united for such an important cause. And what's a celebratory event without delicious treats? We were so grateful for the incredible generosity of Crumbl Cookies and Cobb's Bread, who donated an array of delectable food that fueled our runners and volunteers throughout the day. From sweet delights to wholesome scones, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The 12th Annual Run for Childhood Cancer was a monumental success, not just in terms of participation and funds raised, but in the overwhelming sense of community and shared purpose. Each step taken, every cheer, and every golden cape worn contributed to a powerful message of hope for children and families affected by childhood cancer.
Thank you to every single runner, walker, volunteer, sponsor, and entertainer who made this day so special. Your dedication helps us continue our vital work, supporting those who need it most. We can't wait to see you all next year for another golden day!
